The set of four gable houses is one of the oldest folk buildings in the Krkonoše Mountains and is a rare remnant of the original town buildings. Originally, there were five wooden houses with arcades. During the renovation of the house no.222 a pine wood plaque with the year 1623 was discovered. Three of them were renovated in 1976-1980, a replica of the fourth house with a half-timbered gable was built in 2009-2010 as part of the project Via fabrilis – the way of craftsman tradition (www.viafabrilis.eu).
Two expositions in the form of an open depository present on the one hand a rich collection of objects related to linen production in the Krkonoše Mountains. There are various tools used for making yarn, weaving and printing fabrics. There are also samples of fabrics that made the Krkonoše weavers famous in the past. The opposite timbered room is dedicated to painted folk furniture from the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Selected cupboards, cabinets, chests and even a cradle or a chair represent a wealth of folk designs.
The ground floor of one of the oldest town houses in the city is used for short-term thematic exhibitions.
In the brick-walled house house is the museum's ticket office.
The last of the four houses of the Krkonoše Museum contains several smaller but certainly attractive exhibition units. On the ground floor, there is an installation introducing the history of Vrchlabí and a gallery space. On the first floor, in addition to the interior exhibition of the attic world, furnished in the rural style of the mid-19th century, there is also a section dedicated to craftsmanship, including the traditional making of traditional Krakonoš mountain man figurines. Another space is dedicated to artistic expressions of folk piety, including glass paintings and nativity scenes. The attic is really furnished like the attic of a house with a history, where the attentive eye of the visitor will find many strange and unique objects. The house also has a corner dedicated to children, where they will enjoy tons of fun and learn about some of the phenomena of Krkonoše Mountains history.
