Caution falling trees!

There is an increased risk of spontaneous fall of branches and trees throughout the National Park, where the laws of nature govern the formation and termination of trees. Enter the forest at your own risk!

Hiking

Hiking has a long tradition in the Krkonoše Mountains. When moving around in KRNAP, it is necessary to keep in mind the provisions of the Visitor Regulations, which prohibit entering the quiet areas outside the tourist marked paths and in winter also outside the pole markings.

There are about 700 km of marked hiking trails in the Krkonoše Mountains. These routes lead through all zones, through varied terrain with different levels of difficulty. Some of them are closed in winter. Various printed guides or information centre staff can help visitors to find their way around the mountains.

The whole mountain range is marked with the so-called stripe markings in four basic colours - red, blue, yellow, green (and additionally black on the Polish side). For winter tourists (whether hikers or skiers), the pole markings supplemented by metal signs with symbols of buildings, settlements, peaks serve for better orientation.
